In 2017, the WWTP Shamakhi/Azerbaijan (BIOWORKS-process) was started-up  successfully and inaugurated formally by President Aliyev. The treamtent plant had been designed for Nitrogen and Phosphorous removal and includes a tertiary filtration and UV disinfection.
