Process: Activated sludge process as extended aeration with floating/moving high efficient fine bubble aeration OXIWORKS® based on the BIOWORKS® process.
The municipal wastewater treatment plant is located in the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hocїma region in the immediate vicinity of the beach in the coastal village of Belyounech. The construction work was completed together with a local partner. Despite difficulties during the Covid19 pandemic, the plant was commissioned in the spring of 2023. Early enough to successfully treat wastewater under full load during the tourist high season in summer of the tranquil coastal town.
BIOWORKS® carried out the entire design and supplied, installed and commissioned the electromechanical equipment. Furthermore, the entire control and SCADA system was also realized by BIOWORKS®.
The aeration basin with the OXIWORKS® aeration system and the clarifier are integrated in two concrete basins directly following each other. Tertiary treatment is achieved by means of microfiltration and chlorination. From now on, the high purification level of the BIOWORKS® plant makes an important environmental contribution to improving water quality and thus protecting the sea.
